Whoever said that glass needs to be clear and colorless wasn’t aware of 3M Fasara Decorative Films.

Available in over 100 pre-printed flavors, these aesthetically pleasing polyester films allow you to express your creativity by transforming glass into what you never imagined possible. You can create privacy, redirect light, and add a visually appealing look to otherwise clear glass.

Typically, glass privacy and design are achieved by sandblasting or etching. 3M Fasara polyester films are a value engineered alternative to this process, often being less than 1/3 of the cost. Fasara can be applied to most any new or existing, glass (interior or exterior) surface and requires no added maintenance or special cleaning. And because Fasara can be removed when desired, a new Fasara pattern can be installed allowing continuous modernization and evolution of the space.

3M Fasara Glass Finishes are similar to 3M Dusted and Frosted Crystal Finishes in many ways yet are also different.

Besides the significantly greater number of patterns and shorter warranty term, 3M Fasara films are polyester whereas 3M Dusted and Frosted Crystals are vinyl. The general differences between polyester and vinyl films are:

  • Polyester is easier than vinyl to handle and install
  • Vinyl is thinner, more stretchable, and easier to tear than polyester
  • Vinyl may require more installers than polyester to manage and position the film
  • While vinyl can be removed, it is more difficult than polyester to remove
  • Vinyl is easier than polyester to computer cut into various designs
