Why window film doesn’t work on plexiglass
3M Insulating, Sun Control, and Safety & Security Window Films are engineered specifically for glass. When applied to plastic surfaces like plexiglass, the adhesive can react poorly, often leading to outgassing, bubbling, and premature failure.
Because plexiglass and other acrylic materials expand and release gases differently than glass, even a clean installation can quickly develop visible defects.
